12 members of the family died on September 28 after a matatu they were traveling in collided with a trailer.

The family was reportedly heading for a family meeting in Rongai, Nakuru, when tragedy struck. The driver of the matatu was also a relative.

According to CCTV footage from a nearby petrol station, the two vehicles collided head-on.

Upon impact, the matatu crashed, with parts including the screen shield flying around. The trailer swerved to the side of the road before overturning in a ditch.
