The Public Service Commission (PSC) has cancelled 86 jobs that it had previously advertised to the members of the public.
In a statement on Tuesday, November 18, the PSC announced that it had reviewed the job postings and cancelled them with immediate effect.
"The following advertised posts are hereby cancelled," the PSC notice reads in part.
Among the cancelled positions were the Director of Foreign Service and Minister II in the Foreign Affairs department, which required 37 new persons (CSG 5) and Deputy Director of Foreign Service/Minister Counsellor, which had 26 vacancies (CSG 6).
The position of Assistant Director of Foreign Service/Counsellor, which had 23 openings (CSG 7), was also cancelled.
The commission, however, did not disclose the reason for cancelling the advertised jobs, which were advertised on October 28, 2025, through an official notice from the commission.
In an earlier communication, the commission stated that details about the positions and application process could be found on its website.
Qualified and interested individuals were asked to apply online through the commission's website before November 18, 2025, at 5pm.
The commission warned applicants about fraudsters, stating that no fees are charged during the application process.
"Beware of fraudsters soliciting bribes from the public while masquerading as Commission staff. The Public Service Commission does not charge any fees for job applications, shortlisting, interviews, or appointments," read part of the previous notice.
PSC plays a major role in managing human resources and fostering ethical conduct in promoting efficiency in the public service and national development.
The commission has the power to establish or abolish offices within the public service based on public needs and advises the government on matters within and outside the public service, such as the appointment of government officials.
