President William Ruto is set to embark on an official tour of Central Africa, with a visit to Angola confirmed, the State House has announced.

In a statement on Monday, State House spokesperson Hussein Mohammed said the President will attend the 7th African Union–European Union Summit and participate in the Summit session of the Ad Hoc Oversight Committee on African Union Institutional Reform, which he will chair.

During the visit, Ruto is expected to hold bilateral talks with European leaders on trade and investments, and advance the implementation of the Kenya–EU Economic Partnership Agreement.

''President William Ruto departs this afternoon for Luanda, Angola, for two key engagements: The 7th African Union-European Union Summit and the Second Session of the Ad Hoc Oversight Committee on African Union Institutional Reform, which he will chair as the AU Champion for Institutional Reform,'' Hussein confirmed.

''At the AU-EU Summit, President Ruto and fellow leaders will review two decades of Africa-Europe cooperation and address emerging challenges, including shifting geopolitical priorities, funding gaps, and rising security pressures.''

At the same time, the Head of State will advance Kenya's priorities on predictable financing for African-led peace operations, stronger counter-terrorism and border security collaboration, as well as joint action on climate.

He will also seek support for Kenya’s economic transformation agenda, which targets the country’s transition to a first-world economy, which he has been championing.

Hussein revealed that Kenya would, during the trip, seek investors for the Kenya Kwanza administration’s plan to construct public-private-partnership-ready projects. These include large-scale irrigation supported by mega dams and the expansion of clean and industrial energy.

He added that the country is also targeting financing for major infrastructure upgrades covering roads, airports, ports, and railways.

The visit to Angola comes less than a day after President William Ruto toured neighbouring Uganda, where he announced that Kenya and Uganda will jointly own shares in the Kenya Pipeline Company once the privatisation process is completed.

During the investment tour on Sunday, Ruto stated that the government will publicly list KPC shares on the Nairobi Securities Exchange, allowing Uganda to buy into the company as part of a wider regional investment plan.

He also assured that there was no cause for concern, noting that the two countries had already ratified new cooperation frameworks during a joint ministerial meeting in Nairobi last week, paving the way for joint ownership of infrastructure previously earmarked for privatisation.
