William Ruto Has Been Short-changed by Jubilee - Zakayo Cheruiyot Reveals

Kuresoi South Member of Parliament (MP) Zakayo Cheruiyot has disclosed how President Uhuru Kenyatta has shortchanged his deputy William Ruto.

In an interview with a local newspaper, Cheruiyot advised Ruto to forget the presidency, adding that the Jubilee Party had already prepared Uhuru's successor.

The former ally to Ruto disclosed that the deputy president's 2022 presidential bid will never be achieved after the president signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with six other parties including the Kenya African National Union (KANU).

"We have been questioning how and why URP was dissolved. We thought they didn't want other parties but we saw Uhuru engaging some," he said.

After signing of the said MoU, Uhuru promised KANU Cabinet, parastatal and diplomatic slots in the event he wins the August 8 poll.

Cheruiyot questioned why Uhuru signed the MoUs in the absence of his deputy.

The Kuresoi South MP is the latest to add his voice to the 2022 Ruto presidency debate.

Late last year, Nominated Senator Paul Njoroge and Kiambu Governor William Kabogo cautioned Ruto that support from Central Kenya in 2022 is not guaranteed.
