National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale has sensationally claimed that National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders grabbed huge tracts of land in Lamu.
Speaking at Mkunguni Square, Lamu, Mr Duale stated that the grabbing of land in the county happened when NASA principal Raila Odinga was Prime Minister.
Duale claimed that the NASA principals were working in cohorts with a syndicate of land grabbers in the county to grab parcels of land.
He alleged that Siaya Senator James Orengo presided over the grabbing of over 500,000 acres in the region that was part of 22 ranches whose titles were revoked in 2015 by the Jubilee government.
"The injustices were perpetrated against the people of Lamu. Such have nothing new to offer Kenyans.
"They worked together so that they could not be held accountable. What can such a group do if allowed to run the country?" posed Duale.
He urged residents to reject the NASA leaders for acting in bad faith when they were in power and pointed out that the solution for the theft was for those who grabbed the land to return it.
"It is wrong for anyone to blame the Opposition for what is going on in Lamu. The only way for the problem to be resolved once and for all is for those who grabbed the land to return it," noted Duale.
The Garissa Township Member of Parliament called on the residents to support the Jubilee administration in what he said will ensure that the lands would be returned to the locals.
Duale had accompanied President Uhuru Kenyatta in a developmental tour in the area.
