Presidential aspirant Erastus Nyamera had a rough time on Monday while seeking clearance by the IEBC after he apparently went all wrong in fulfilling the requirements to vie for the presidency.
First of all, Mr Nyamera brought trouble upon himself after showing up for clearance without a running mate; which is a paramount and rather obvious requirement.
He was also turned away by the IEBC as he did not have enough signatures and his degree was not certified.
According to IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati, the aspirant had not also paid the requisite Sh200,000 fee for presidential aspirants seeking approval.
Nyamera, however, protested the decision by IEBC claiming that he would go to court.
Earlier on, Justice and Freedom Party Presidential Aspirant Justus Juma was also turned away for having very few signatures.
Chebukati claimed Juma's signatures were not from members of his party.
"We find the list of supporters is not signed. Your proposer also belongs to Jubilee," the IEBC Chairman stated.
Four Presidential candidates were cleared today by the IEBC to run for the country's top seat in the August poll.
They include Jubilee Party's candidate, President Uhuru Kenyatta, United Democratic Party Cyrus Jirongo and Independent Candidates Joseph Nyagah, Michael Wainaina and Japhet Kaluyu.
