National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga has vowed to jail those behind the expensive Standard Gauge Railway (SGR).
Odinga revealed that the project was to cost Sh227Billion but the cost was inflated to Sh327Billion in unclear circumstances.
The NASA leader revealed that powerful and corrupt Jubilee administration officials hiked the cost of the project and looted public funds.
The leader also criticised the Jubilee government for sinking billions in the project but delivering a diesel powered train instead of the electric train that was promised.
This comes just a day after President Uhuru Kenyatta vowed to pass and sign a law that those who vandalise the SGR to face the death penalty.
A section of the public also took to the social media to question why those who vandalise the project would face the harsh death penalty while corrupt leaders and government officials implicated in mega scandals walk free with some even running for public offices.
Odinga also faulted the president for using the project to gain political mileage.
Should the two leaders implement their threats, then corrupt Jubilee officials could find themselves sharing the cells with those who vandalise the SGR.
