Uhuru Kenyatta Orders NASA to Provide Evidence Over Killing of Mumias Sugar Manager Ronald Lubya

President Uhuru Kenyatta has ordered the National Super Alliance (NASA) led by Raila Odinga to provide any evidence it has regarding the killing of a Mumias Sugar Company manager.

Speaking in Kisii during a tour of the region, Kenyatta blasted the Opposition for accusing the government of orchestrating the heinous act.

The Head of State demanded that NASA should provide the evidence to the authorities rather than speaking about the issue in political rallies.

“If you have information on the killing, give it to police. Let us not incite Kenyans or cause unnecessary tension. How will making claims at a political rally help? He posed.

He criticised the Opposition for what he termed propagating divisive politics and propaganda stating that his administration was focused on "selling" policies.

On Monday, Opposition leaders claimed that the manager, Ronald Lubya, was killed after declining to be part of a sugar importation deal.

Lubya was found dead in his house with reports indicating that he had been shot by three unknown gunmen who raided his home.

According to Western Region Police Chief Moses Ombati, the assailants also stole household ‎goods and a Toyota Harrier vehicle belonging to the deceased.

However, a preliminary postmortem indicates that Lubya had not been shot but was hit using a blunt object leading to his death.
