President Uhuru Kenyatta Vows to Ensure Raila Odinga Benefits from Elderly People Cash Programme After August Elections

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday offered to ensure that Opposition leader Raila Odinga benefits from the elderly people cash transfer program after the August elections.

The President, while addressing residents in Kakamega, stated that the National Super Alliance (NASA) flag bearer should prepare to quit politics after the August 8 elections since he had no chance of winning and promised to ensure that he was a beneficiary of the elderly people fund.

“Jubilee is ready to ensure Mr Odinga benefits from the cash program for the elderly after August 8 since he had no chance of winning the presidency,” he stated.

The President stated that NASA had nothing new to offer as they were busy engaging in divisive politics in their campaigns and promoting tribalism.

“We are confident of clinching victory on August 8 and our aim is to unite all Kenyans and ensure peaceful co-existence of the different communities,” Uhuru stated.

The president used the rally to showcase some of the projects he had initiated such as expansion and tarmacking of 250 kilometres of roads in Kakamega County and the revival of the cash-strapped Mumias Sugar Company.

“I will be coming back to launch my campaigns in the villages to ask you to vote for Jubilee so that we can continue serving the people of western and ensure they benefit from development projects like other parts of the country,” President Kenyatta mentioned.

Deputy President William Ruto on his part asked residents from the Western region not to risk their lives by supporting the Opposition as they lacked a meaningful development agenda for the region.

“I have come to humbly plead that you accept to give your vote to Jubilee to ensure we continue with the good work of initiating development in western and other parts of the country,” Ruto stated.

The two leaders spoke during a tour of the Western region where they visited Kakamega and Bungoma Counties.
