Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero Slams KPMG Audit on Dead Voters

Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero has rubbished a KPMG audit on the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) as false.

Speaking at the Regina Caeli Catholic Church, Karen, Governor Kidero refuted the assertions by KPMG that there were 92,272 dead voters in the IEBC register.

Kidero pointed out that the figure in the countrywide tally was not adding up considering that on average over 360,000 people die in Nairobi alone per year.

He noted that the figures quoted by KPMG were untrue if the sum total from 2013 when the IEBC conducted the registration exercise was to go by.

“In five years we should have probably lost 360,000 people in Nairobi alone of which 75 percent are adults.

“ I was surprised in the cleaning of register nationally they can only capture about 92,000,” Kidero added.

The governor called on the commission to come up with a genuine voters list that captured the real figures on the ground to avert the possibility of rigging the elections.

Kidero added that the audit report should reveal the names of those who have died and struck off the voters register.
