President Uhuru Kenyatta's Meru Fan Mzee Zablon Mukiira Claims President is Like a God

A 78-old man who shot to national fame after he promised to auction his properties in support of President Uhuru Kenyatta has compared the President to a God.

Speaking to a local daily after he met President Kenyatta during an exclusive fundraiser held in a posh Nairobi hotel, Mzee Zablon Mukiira stated that meeting President Kenyatta seemed like God had come down.

Mukiira narrated that after his story broke out in the daily, he received a call from his area chief asking for his ID number before being picked by the assistant chief and a police officer who took him to the Deputy County Commissioner.

At the DCC’s Office, Mukiira said he was interrogated and asked to prepare to meet the President. The DCC then inquired whether he owned a good suit before sending a police officer and the assistant chief to his home to check it out.

They picked two suits from his wardrobe and advised which to wear while meeting the president. On the fateful day,  the DCC accompanied him to Nairobi and bought him a new suit at Embu to be worn at the dinner event.

When they arrived, Mukiira said that he was booked into the hotel and served a sumptuous lunch before being ushered to sit with the high and mighty in the country.

“The president arrived at around 9 pm and there were about 500 people in the hall. After he had settled down, he was told that his supporter from Meru was in the house. I was called forward. I greeted him and we hugged; I felt like God had come down,” said Mukiira.

When he was given a chance to speak, the elderly man told the attendees why he had made the radical decision and asked for a job to assist his jobless son and the promotion of Nkabune assistant chief.

He noted that he was asked not to sell his properties but would be facilitated.

Meru gubernatorial aspirant Kiraitu Murungi had last week pledged to give Mukiira Sh100,000 to help him campaign for Uhuru instead of selling his property.
