National Super Alliance (NASA) Flag bearer Raila Odinga has vowed to demolish all ranches owned by foreigners in Laikipia County if he wins the August 8 elections.
Speaking in an interview with The Times, the Opposition Chief stated that the massive land occupied by the ranches should be put into more productive use.
"These ranches are too big and the people don’t even live there, they live in Europe and only come once in a while," Mr Odinga stated.
The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Leader also blamed the Jubilee Government for the violent land invasions experienced in the recent months, in which several people have been killed.
Laikipia County has for the past few months been marred by violence where a lot of people have been killed and scores injured after attacks by illegal raiders.
In March, Sosian Ranch Owner Tristan Voorspuy was shot dead by invaders after he visited his ranch to assess a damage caused in a previous attack.
The Sosian Ranch had been a popular holiday spot for the British Royal family.

In April, Renowned Conservationist and author Kuki Gallman was shot and injured after illegal raiders invaded her Laikipia Nature and Conservancy ranch.
Earlier on, her lodge, the Mukutan Retreat, valued to be worth millions of shillings was burned down and her daughter Sveva Gallman shot and seriously injured in the process.
