Susan Kihika and Other Kenyan Trending Topics on 13th June 2017

Social media was on Tuesday morning abuzz as Kenyans engaged in debates on different topics.

Here are today's trending topics:

Susan Kihika

The Nakuru Senatorial aspirant has been a topic of discussion after the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal (PPDT) nullified her nomination on grounds that she was still serving as Nakuru County Assembly Speaker despite being nominated to vie for the senatorial seat.

Ms Kihika has, however, moved to the High Court where she is seeking orders for the nullification of the ruling by PPDT barring her from vying as Senator.

Through her lawyer Tom Ojienda the senatorial aspirant argued before Justice George Odunga that the tribunal disobeyed a court order he issued on Monday, stopping it from looking into a complaint filed by Margaret Wanjiku.

Ojienda submitted that the Tribunal delivered a ruling even though they were ordered not to.

Ms Kihika now wants the court to annul the tribunal's ruling.

Here are some reactions from the trend:

As a lawyer, Susan Kihika must have known that she ought to have resigned. Surely, some girls are really letting the ladies fraternity down.

By now Susan Kihika should have contacted Justice Odunga. The guy can overturn any ruling.

This "Susan Kihika" and wavinya drama has nothing to do with women. If you are ignorant you should be treated as such gender notwithstanding
