Michael Ochieng Odongo Sells Land for Sh200,000 to Campaign for President Uhuru Kenyatta

A man in Kisumu is turning heads after he sold two acres of land in a bid to stage a campaign in support of President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election.

Speaking to a local daily, Michael Ochieng Odongo,50, stated that he had sold his two-acre land for Sh100,000 apiece in support of President Kenyatta.

Odongo stated that he was targeting to raise Sh300,000 in his pledge to garner over 3,000 votes for the President’s camp in the opposition’s perceived stronghold of Kisumu.

"I am not doing this to gain favours from him," said Odongo.

Odongo was a former convict on death row for 15 years serving time at the Nakuru Main Prison for a robbery with violence in 2001.

He was saved him from the gallows after being pardoned along with convicts countrywide by President Kenyatta.

His pledge comes days after Zablon Mukiira,78, from Nkabune-Meru, met President Kenyatta at an exclusive fundraising dinner after he offered to sell his Sh10 million property to support Jubilee.

Mukiira had also vowed to sell his property and channel the cash to President Kenyatta’s campaign attracting attention nationwide.

Meru Senator Kiraitu Murungi moved by the old man’s zeal donated Sh100,000 to Mukiira’s course.
