Zablon Mukiira to Sell His Property to Campaign for Uhuru Kenyatta

The growing support for the National Super Alliance (NASA) in Meru and Tharaka Nithi Counties is worrying many Jubilee supporters.

One such worried man is 78-year old Zablon Mukiira from Nkabune in Meru County who has vowed to sell all his property valued at more than Sh10 Million to support President Uhuru Kenyatta's reelection bid.

Mukiira revealed that he intends to sell a bull, three sheep and a 2-acre prime plot in Meru town valued at over Sh10 Million to finance his campaigns for Uhuru in the County.

The 78-year old revealed that he is a worried man due to the massive support that NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga enjoys in parts of Meru and Tharaka Nithi counties.

“I will sell my only bull at Sh40,000 and three sheep at Sh25,000 to campaign for the president. I will move from village to village to tell the people what the Jubilee government has done,’’ he said. Should this not be enough, Mukiira disclosed that he would sell his prime plot in Meru town to campaign for the president.

“There are few people who want to vote [for another candidate] and they may influence others. That is why I want to campaign for the president,’’ he said.

Attempts by his wife and two sons to convince him not to sell the only property owned by the family have so far been futile.

“We are afraid that our father will make true his threat because he has been asking us to look for buyers," revealed one of his sons.

Igembe South Member of Parliament Mithika Linturi and Meru Governor Peter Munya recently admitted that Jubilee was facing resistance in parts of Meru and Tharaka Nithi with the region warming up to NASA's Raila Odinga.
