A 17-year-old boy brutally killed his 16-year-old classmate during a fight at Jabagre Primary School in Homa Bay County.
The boy whose name is yet to be identified was reported to have hit the deceased, Brian Odiwuor, with a blunt object.
The two pupils were engaged in a fierce fight when Odiwuor overpowered his opponent who then took a blunt object which he used to strike him several times on the head.
"The boy fell down after being hit with an object. He bled profusely and became unconscious," a teacher narrated.
Odiwuor was rushed to Rongo Hospital in Migori County where his condition worsened and was transferred to St Lawrence Hospital in Homa Bay County where he succumbed to the injuries.
According to Dhiwa OCPD Nixon Makhoha, the 17-year-old ran away after committing the heinous act.
Makhoha stated they had launched investigations into the cause of the fight between the two pupils.
Odiwuor's body was moved to Homa Bay County Referral Hospital for a postmortem.
