Kibwezi MP Jessica Mbalu States Supporters of Rival Philip Kaloki Threatened to Rape Her

Kibwezi East Member of Parliament (MP) Jesica Mbalu on Wednesday accused supporters of her rival Philip Kaloki of threatening to rape her.

Mbalu was speaking after she was summoned by the IEBC's Code of Conduct Enforcement Committee over electoral misconduct.

Mbalu and Kaloki were among 14 candidates who were alleged to have breached the electoral code of conduct during their campaigns.

IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati stated that those found guilty of electoral misconduct would face stern action.

Chebukati warned all aspirants taking part in the August 8 polls that the IEBC committee would continue to monitor the conduct of campaigns across the country.

Mbalu, who is seeking to defend her seat on a Wiper Party ticket, will face off with Mr Kaloki who is running under the Jubilee Party.
