A meeting by Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Peter Kenneth was on Wednesday disrupted after gunshots were fired nearby.
Kenneth who has been traversing the county on a vote-hunting mission is said to have been addressing a group of supporters at Kariobangi South area.
However, things went south after gunshots dominated the air temporarily disrupting the proceedings.
Reports indicate that police officers manning the area were forced to fire in the air after receiving claims of a group of rowdy youth who were allegedly stealing from residents.
The officers are said to have fired to disperse the youth though normalcy was restored shortly after.
The aspirant was visiting various estates across the City seeking for votes in his bid to take on incumbent Governor Evans Kidero and Jubilee candidate Mike Sonko.
Earlier in the day, Kenneth was blasted by a section of Jubilee leaders after accusing Deputy President William Ruto of influencing the Jubilee nominations in favour of Sonko.
The leaders, mostly consisting of aspirants who lost in the primaries, urged the former Gatanga Member of Parliament to stop dragging the DP into his woes.
