Samburu Governor Moses Lenolkulal accused his opponents of using witchcraft

The race for the Samburu gubernatorial seat has taken a new twist after the sitting Jubilee Governor, Moses Lenolkulal, accused his opponents of using witchcraft.

According to a local daily, Governor Lenolkulal claimed that his opponents had hired and ferried 15 witchdoctors from Congo and Mombasa to his County.

Lenolkulal stated that the witchdoctors were brought by his opponents in a bid to increase their popularity and offer protection.

He alleged that the witches were being led by two aspirants; one who wanted to unseat him and another seeking an MP position.

"They are led by their lazy leader who wants my seat. Another one wants to be an MP. They have brought the witchdoctors so that they can blind and confuse our supporters to vote against us," alleged Lenolkulal.

He said that the witches had been planted in slums in Maralal Town where some well-known politicians visit them for powers to sway voters.

He warned that he would soon go public with the names of those he said had resorted to black magic ahead of the August polls.

The governor claimed that the act by the politicians would bring a curse to the community.
