Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago Offers to Appoint Zedekiah Bundotich aka Buzeki as Trade Minister

With about 40 days to the elections, Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has offered his main opponent Zedekiah Bundotich aka Buzeki a position in his cabinet after he wins the elections.

The governor was speaking on Sunday at an event attended by his rival in Uasin Gishu Primary School ground in Eldoret town to mark the Eid-Ul-Fitr celebrations.

Exuding confidence of retaining his governor seat, Mandago urged Buzeki to support his re-election bid, offering to reward his sacrifice with a powerful appointment in his cabinet.

“Five years is not a long period. My brother Buzeki should support me as he waits for 2022, I will appoint him as my minister for trade,” Mandago stated.

Mandago also asked the Muslim community to re-elect him for a second term owing to his development record in the county.

Buzeki declined the Governor’s offer insisting he was more experienced and had more connections to the business world that would make him a better County boss.

The billionaire businessman, however, publicly announced that he would accept defeat should the incumbent governor beat him in the August 8 polls.

Jubilee’s senatorial candidate, Prof. Margaret Kamar was also present during the occasion where she called upon Muslims and Christians to use their religion to preach and maintain peace in the region.

She pledged to table a bill championing the rights of the Muslim community upon her election to the Senate.
