KNUT Boss Wilson Sossion Denies Claims that KNUT Used Sh300 Million to Fund NASA

The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Secretary General Wilson Sossion has denied claims by Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria that KNUT had released Sh300 Million to fund the National Super Alliance (NASA).

Speaking during a NASA rally in Bomet County, Sossion dismissed Kuria’s claims as propaganda.

"The assertion is criminal in nature. Our finances are supervised by the registrar of trade unions," Sossion stated.

Earlier on, Kuria was quoted by a local press urging the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to withhold contributions to KNUT.

Kuria claimed that the teachers' union was using funds from TSC to Fund NASA, adding that KNUT had already diverted Sh300 Million to fund NASA campaigns.

The Gatundu South MP had also questioned why the KNUT leader had attended NASA’s rally in Bomet.

Last week, Sossion was nominated by the ODM Party led by Opposition leader Raila Odinga.

Sossion was among other individuals whose names were forwarded to the IEBC by political parties as their nominees to the Senate, the National Assembly and county assemblies.
