NASA Defeats Jubilee in New TIFA Nairobi County Poll

A new poll released by Trends and Insights For Africa (TIFA) has revealed that the National Super Alliance (NASA) is the most preferred coalition in Nairobi.

According to the study, if elections were held today NASA-led by Raila Odinga would emerge victorious with 56 % as compared to President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee Party with 34%.

The study found that 9% of the city voters were still undecided on the coalition to elect.

The poll was conducted among 829 Nairobi residents.

It also revealed that 44 percent of the respondents would re-elect Governor Evans Kidero if the elections were held today while 43 percent would vote for Sonko.

In the Woman Rep race, Esther Passaris of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) emerged victorious with 56% with incumbent Rachel Shebesh coming in second with 25%.

In the Senatorial contest, Jubilee candidate Johnson Sakaja has a commanding lead with 38 percent with ODM's Edwin Sifuna following with 28 percent.

Last week, Research firm Infotrak released a poll revealing that President Kenyatta's lead was getting narrower while Mr Odinga was gaining ground ahead of the August polls.

The poll indicated that President Kenyatta would win by 48 per cent against Raila's 43 percent.

Jubilee Party emerged the most preferred coalition in the study with 47% as compared to the National Super Alliance who had 43%.
