NASA Leaders are Welcome to Our Home and Funeral - Hellen Nkaissery Declares

The family of the late Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery on Tuesday announced that Kajiado Governor David Nkedianye and Kajiado Central legislator Elijah Memusi are welcome to their home and free to attend the burial on Saturday.

Nkaissery's wife, Hellen Nkaissery, through family spokesman Saitoti Ole Maika, regretted what happened at her home on Sunday when the National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders were sent away.

“The two are mourners like other Kenyans and are free to attend the funeral on Saturday. Whether their mourning will be genuine or not, that will be between them and their God.

“Helen has clearly said she will not want drama or side shows during the burial of her husband. This is the reason she has scheduled a family meeting on Wednesday at Bisil home after all her children have arrived from abroad. One of the agenda is the conduct of young morans at the home of the late Minister,” Maika stated.

He added that the family was not involved in any away in the eviction of NASA leaders stating that it was the decision of the residents.

The family spokesman faulted the politicians for their recent harsh utterances against the CS stating that it may have contributed to their eviction.

Mr Maika noted that the conduct of the two politicians before and after the death of Nkaissery had caused a rift in the community owing to the fact that the late CS and Mr Memusi come from the Irmokesen clan.

On Sunday, Governor Nkedianye, Memusi, Kenya Meat Commission (KMC) Chief Taraiya ole Kores and Wiper Woman Representative candidate Simayiai Rakita were denied access to the home of the late Nkaissery by morans.

The leaders had visited the residence for a prayer service that had been organised by the burial committee but were kicked out soon after the prayers.
