NASA Leader Raila Odinga To Campaign in Nyamira After DP William Ruto's Visit

Details have emerged that the opposition National Super Alliance (NASA) was compelled to take drastic measures and change their campaign schedule after Deputy President William Ruto toured Nyamira County.

Sources privy to the details revealed to Nation that NASA leadership team put the tour of Nyamira at the top of their agenda after it emerged that the region was discontent, claiming that their support for the opposition leader Raila Odinga was being taken for granted.

In a move that is meant to secure the votes for NASA and counter any damage caused by Ruto's visit, NASA leader Raila Odinga will today lead the opposition in a vote-hunting mission in Nyamira.

The NASA leadership was concerned following "murmurs of discontent from the locals who felt that the opposition chief was taking their support for granted at a time when Jubilee is pulling all stops to penetrate the region."

The visit by the opposition comes four days after the DP Ruto combed the area, drumming support for President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Jubilee has been keen on securing votes from the region with numerous visits to the area. Three weeks ago, President Kenyatta raided Nyamira county to sell his re-election bid.

A campaign team dubbed "Mbele Iko Sawa" led by Jubilee's Gatundu South parliamentary candidate Moses Kuria also combed through the area, selling the Jubilee agenda.

Nyamira county is located in the former Nyanza province where opposition chief enjoys massive support and the region has voted overwhelmingly for the opposition in the last three elections.
