Jubilee's Raphael Tuju Accuses NASA of Plotting to Sabotage Electronic System During Elections

Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju has revealed that the National Super Alliance (NASA) intends to rig the elections by sabotaging the electronic system.

During an interview on Citizen TV Tuesday evening, Tuju claimed that the Raila Odinga-led Coalition was planning to make the electronic system fail and claim that the elections are shambolic.

“We have reason to be suspicious of NASA’s fixation to have everything electronic. They have something up their sleeve and we know it,” he stated.

Tuju elaborated that the electronic system is not fool proof as it is prone to manipulation by IT experts and can be used to subvert the will of the people.

He added that Jubilee was okay with either a manual or an electronic system, noting that the government had its reservations on Raila’s insistence on the electronic system.

“We must have a back-up which is verifiable, simple and that can deal with the peculiarities that are in this country,” the Jubilee Secretary General stated.

On Tuesday, Garissa Township Member of Parliament Aden Duale accused the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) of having a secret deal with NASA.

The National Assembly majority leader claimed that the elections body was planning to award the presidential ballot papers tender to a company linked to NASA.
