DP William Ruto Warns NASA Flag Bearer Raila Odinga Against Attacking Education CS Fred Matiang'i

National Super Alliance (NASA) flag bearer Raila Odinga has been warned against linking Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) Fred Matiang'i to rigging.

Speaking in Changamwe during the launch of Mombasa-Mariakani road project, Deputy President William Ruto defended the CS who was put in charge of security on an acting capacity stating that he had a right to discuss security matters.

This was after Odinga claimed that Matiang'i was planning to use his new role as the security boss to help the Jubilee government rig the August election.

However, Ruto cautioned that the CS was mandated with protecting the citizens during the electioneering period and should not be dragged into politics.

"These NASA leaders should keep off Matiang'i. They should tell Kenyans whether they are ready for elections on August 8 or not. Matiang’i is not politicking. We have enough people to politick for us," indicated the DP.

Ruto urged the Opposition to be ready to compete with President Uhuru Kenyatta and cease raising all manner of allegations as the election approaches.

He further indicated that NASA was panicking since they were not ready for the upcoming polls.

"It is not Matiang’i who needs to make up his mind. It is they who need to decide whether they are ready for the election. If they are not ready for this year's election they can have theirs in 2022 where they will meet me," he noted.

DP Ruto called on the Opposition to stop talking about securing their votes since they did not have anything to protect.
