President Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto Promise to Protect Nicholas Biwott's Property

President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto have defended former Minister Nicholas Biwott against allegations of corruption and murder.

Speaking in Toot village, Elgeyo Marakwet during the burial of Biwott, the two dismissed past allegations that the powerful Minister had been involved in several cases of graft during his tenure in power.

They affirmed that they claims were false and announced that they would defend Biwott's property which includes a number of companies.

“We will make sure no one touches them,” DP Ruto told the mourners.

The two were paying tribute to Biwott who died on Monday last week after collapsing in the morning at his home following a long illness.

On his part, Kenyatta described the former Minister, popularly referred to as “Total Man”, as a hero due to his contribution to the development of the country.

“There will be many unsung heroes, but there are few who are responsible for what Kenya is today, Biwott is one of them,” he stated.

During the burial, the former Keiyo South Member of Parliament was eulogised as a leader who helped many both in his family and area residents.

Ex-minister Henry Kosgey divulged that Biwott was not secretive as perceived by many but he was simply careful with what he said.

“He knew what to say and what not to say. Are we allowed to, for example, talk about the number of children and cows we have in Kalenjin?” he posed.
