Gusii Council of Elders Demand Apology From NASA Leader Raila Odinga for Attack on CS Fred Matiang'i

The Gusii Council of Elders have demanded an apology from National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga who attacked Acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i

The community leaders asked the NASA leader to produce evidence of his claims or withdraw his incriminating accusations.

Led by their Chairman, Mr Matundura Araka, the elders accused Raila of disrespecting the community and threatened that they would rally their community to vote against the Opposition leader.

"Raila cannot expect votes from the community whose leaders, he has held in contempt," Mr Araka warned.

During a rally in Kibra on Tuesday, Raila alleged that Dr Matiang'i will be used to rig elections in favour of President Uhuru Kenyatta under the pretext of security.

"Matiang'i is the Jubilee point man in Nyamira and we will not allow him to interfere with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) as we know he is working on behalf of Jubilee.

"He should make a choice whether he is a Jubilee political player or a public servant," he stated.
