Buyers to Make Sh50,000 Deposit for Kenyan Made Mobius II New Model

Buyers wishing to purchase the new model of the Kenyan made Mobius II rough terrain vehicle have been asked to make a pre-order with a Sh50,000 deposit.

The Sh50,000 amount will avail an opportunity for the individual to fully purchase one of the first roll-out cars, however, should the buyer change his mind the fee is refundable.

The new model that is set to be launched soon and will come in three different makes - the entry-level Cargo trim at Sh1.3 Million, the Adventure (Mid-Trim) make that will sell at Sh1.45 Million and the Adventure Plus make which will go for Sh1.57 Million.

The Mobius 2014 maiden version was sold at Sh950,000.

Mobius Motors, the Kenyan manufacturer of the vehicle, promises a marked improvement over the first version.

Some features of the new model are power steering, sealed side windows, lockable doors, higher ground clearance, improved exterior and interior design. Most of which were absent in the first model.

"Designed with local road conditions in mind, the new Mobius II combines the core performance of an off-road car to cover long distances on all roads reliably and comfortably," a personalised invitation letter read in part.

The manufacturer's vision is to facilitate ease of transportation for businesses and individuals in Africa where many roads are untarmacked.

"Mobius is not just building vehicles more suited to local demand, but transport platforms that empower local entrepreneurs to run profitable transportation businesses with Mobius vehicles to end-users in their communities," their vision statement partly reads.

The launch date is yet to be announced, however, buyers can pre-order on the automaker's website.
