Machakos Gubernatorial Candidate Wavinya Ndeti Gets Huge Boost After Rival Endorses Her

Wiper Gubernatorial Candidate Wavinya Ndeti has received a huge boost after her rival Bernard Kiala shelved his political ambitions to support her for the Machakos Governor race.

Addressing a press conference on Sunday, Kiala stated that his decision to step down was to guarantee a National Super Alliance (NASA) win in the August elections.

"After much consideration and consultation with leaders in the community and our supporters, I have agreed to withdraw from the race,"

"Our withdrawal is unconditional and it is also in line with the need to rebuild Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka's 2022 presidential bid, We have seen the risk of scattering NASA presidential votes in Machakos as we advance our candidacy,” the Deputy Governor stated.

He assured the residents of Machakos that he still had a vision for the county and he would soon actualize it.

Kiala had decided to run as an independent candidate after he lost the party primaries to Wavinya Ndeti which were repeated twice.

His running caused tension between Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama and Kalonzo Musyoka with each supporting different candidates.

Wavinya has been in a heated battle with incumbent Governor Alfred Mutua as they near the August elections.

Earlier NASA flag bearer, Raila Odinga asked the ODM candidate Michael Mutuku to step down for Wiper's Patrick Makau to enable the coalition clinch more seats than the opposition.
