KDF Spokesman Joseph Owuoth Confirms He is Alive and Well

Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) Spokesman Joseph Owuoth who had been reported missing on Tuesday morning has spoken out.

The KDF Spokesman confirmed he was alive and well.

"I am at work. What is happening? Nonsense...nonsense...I am doing fine. Tell them I am at work, everything is fine... there is nothing wrong...I have not even been to Kisumu..there is nothing to worry about...", Owuoth stated in a phone interview with The Star.

Various leaders from Kisumu led by Senator Anyang' Nyong'o had earlier on alleged that Col. Owuoth had been missing since Monday.

Speaking in a press briefing, Prof Nyong'o noted that Owuoth went missing after he was sent on compulsory leave on Friday after authenticating documents by National Super Alliance (NASA) that revealed the military would be used to rig elections.

The Senator further stated that Owuoth was given orders not to stay in Nairobi thus he boarded public transport to travel to his rural home in Koru.

“His sister Elizabeth Akinyi, who was then in Koru talked to him and he relayed to her exactly the instructions he had received from his employer,” said Nyong’o. 

"We want a report from the government on the whereabouts on Owuoth by the end of today," he demanded.
