Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni Congratulates Uhuru Kenyatta on His Re-election

Ugandan Head of State Yoweri Museveni congratulated President Uhuru Kenyatta after his re-election in a special message sent on Friday night.

Museveni expressed his delight and that of his country that Kenyatta, who he enjoys a cordial relationship with, had been elected to a second term in office.

"On behalf of the government and the people of the Republic of Uganda, and as a current chairperson of the East African Community, I would like to extend congratulations to your excellency on your re-election as President of the Republic of Kenya," he noted.

The Ugandan President went ahead to commend Kenyatta for the trust he has earned from Kenyans, appreciating all the efforts he had made towards the development of the country and the region.

"Under your leadership, Kenya has continued to be a key regional economic, peace and security partner." he stated.

He expressed his eagerness to work with Kenyatta in order to strengthen the brotherly relations and cooperation between the two countries and other EAC partners.

On the other hand, his Tanzanian counterpart Dr. John Magufuli also congratulated President Kenyatta for getting another chance to lead the country.

Rwanda's  President Paul Kagame on his part applauded the Kenyatta for the successful election and the trust Kenyans placed in him by re-electing him.

The same was reiterated by Burundian Head of State Pierre Nkurunziza who issued a statement congratulating Mr.Kenyatta on his resounding victory.

"On behalf of all Burundians, I congratulate President elect Uhuru Kenyatta and the people of Kenya. Looking forward to strengthening our relations," he said.
