Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has thanked the National Super Alliance (NASA) for playing a big role in his re election.
During his first press briefing on Monday, Mandago noted that without the endorsement from the NASA coalition he would not have been re-elected.
"I want to congratulate the NASA team for saying 'Mandago Tibim,' had they not said so, I would not have won this election," he declared.
During the campaigns in the region, NASA co-principals Moses Wetangula, outgoing Governor Isaac Ruto and Musalia Mudavadi endorsed the Jubilee aspirant against his main rival Zedekiah Kiprop (Buzeki) who ran as an independent candidate.
In turn, Mandago endorsed an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) candidate, Charles Okumu, for the Langas Ward seat, a move that was viewed by many as a strategy to seek more numbers.
However, the ODM candidate lost to Jubilee's Francis Mwangi.
The Governor further assured NASA supporters not to worry too much about their loss in the presidential race, noting that his government would be all inclusive.
"In my next term, I will cater for the needs of all irrespective of whether you voted for me or not," he stated.
At the same time, Mandago declared that he will fire some members of his Cabinet over what he termed as a betrayal that almost cost him the elections.
The Jubilee politician revealed that he was aware some county employees wanted him to lose the elections, urging them to seek forgiveness if they wanted to remain in his government.
"I am back but they should know there is a second chance to repent. I am ready to work with everyone who will be willing to serve the public and always do what they are supposed to do as public servants," the Governor maintained.
Mandago is due to be sworn in on August 18th at Eldoret Sports Club.
