Bungoma Deputy Governor-elect Ngome Kibanani’s Wife Kicked Out of Acceptance Speech Ceremony

There was drama after Bungoma Deputy Governor-elect Ngome Kibanani’s wife was thrown out of the venue of the acceptance speech of Governor-elect Wycliffe Wangamati which was presided over by her husband.

Hellen Nangekhe was escorted out of Kibabii University's main hall after she attempted to push her way through the security barrier to the dais where her husband was introducing members of the family.

As Kibanani introduced their daughter, Naghekhe screamed accusing her husband of only acknowledging their daughter but was held down by the guards who blocked her.

"You are breaking my ribs. Why are you hurting me? Please leave me alone," Nagheke said as the security men dragged her out of the hall.

Nangekhe who was vying for the Bungoma woman representative seat under a Maendeleo Chap Chap ticket but lost refuted claims that they are separated with Kibanani.

The former Manager at the Nzoia Sugar Company said she was surprised that the security attached to Wangamati and her husband mishandled her yet she had been invited to the event.

"I had officially been invited by my husband. I don't know who was behind all that happened. They injured me," Nagheke stated on Saturday.

Bungoma women activist Kellan Wavomba condemned the incident calling on Kibanani to come out openly and give his word on the same.

She rebuked Bungoma Woman Rep-elect Catherine Wambilianga for seating and watching while a woman was assaulted.

Wangamati who was vying on a Ford-Kenya ticket beat Jubilee Party’s Kenneth Lusaka in the governor race after he garnered 200,995 against Lusaka’s 180,270 votes. He will be sworn in on Tuesday.
