Siaya Governor has announced that he will ensure all county workers who supported his opponents in the concluded elections are sacked.
Speaking during his inauguration ceremony, Rasanga asked the officials who opposed his re-election not to report to their workstations on Tuesday.
Rasanga stated that he knew all those who campaigned against him adding that he would personally ensure they were removed from their positions.
According to the county boss, people who supported his rivals in the hotly contested race did not deserve to work in his administration.
“I want to tell those who supported all my opponents in the elections not to report to work tomorrow. Therefore, they are forewarned as I will not take a pen and paper to sack them but the public will do that. It is wrong for such persons to continue clinging onto county government offices,” cautioned Mr Rasanga.
The Governor assured that this being his last term in office, he would get rid of any lazy staff by subjecting them to annual performance contracts.
He further urged his competitors to join him in developing the county rather than concentrate on challenging his win in court.
In the concluded polls, Rasanga sought re-election against four others including former Rarieda MP Nicholas Gumbo who vied as an independent candidate
He, however, emerged victorious with a slight margin garnering 195,000 votes against Gumbo’s 178,000 votes.
