Jubilee Party Intimidating Supreme Court Judges on Social Media - Says ODM Chairman John Mbadi

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has accused senior officials from the Jubilee Party of intimidating Supreme Court judges.

Led by ODM Chairman John Mbadi, the party's parliamentarians have accused the leaders of fighting the petition filed by their party leader, Raila Odinga, through social media.

"The Jubilee leadership has gone ahead to purport to poke holes in the case even before the pretrial as proof of how weak the case is. This is an attempt to intimidate the Judiciary into throwing away the case.

"We ask Jubilee Party to set our courts free and stop intimidation of judges. But we also remind Jubilee that the battle is far from over. They can intimidate the courts but they cannot succeed in intimidating the people," Mbadi stated.

The MPs also warned the media against publishing stories that paint Odinga's election petition as weak and cannot withstand the legal test.

The ODM Chair rejected calls to accept the outcome of the elections, insisting that they will proceed with the petition as planned.

The politicians present at the briefing were Narok Senator Ledama ole Kina, Nyando MP Jared Okello, Alego Usonga MP Sam Atandi and Saboti MP Caleb Amisi.

Among the top Jubilee politicians who have come out to dismiss the case is Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki and his Elgeyo Marakwet counterpart Kipchumba Murkomen.

"I have gone through that petition, paragraph by paragraph, sentence by sentence and word for word from last evening, and as a lawyer, I am shocked. This is the weakest petition I have come across filed in any court across the world, trying to contest the election of a president," Senator Kindiki recently stated.

Murkomen has called the petition a fishing expedition.
