Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula's Bodyguard to be Arraigned in Court

Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula's bodyguard is set to be arraigned in court on Tuesday to face charges of causing disturbance at the Supreme Court.

Constable Simon Lonyai is also accused of defying orders given by Central Police Station OCPD Robinson Thuku.

This is after Mr Lonyai was denied entry into the Supreme Court on Monday but attempted to resist being ejected.

Opposition leaders Raila Odinga, Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka and Senator Wetangula were making their way to the court when they were delayed at the main gate.

Police officers manning the premises barred Wetangula’s bodyguard from entering the chambers on claims that he was armed.

The officers proceeded to forcefully disarm Lonyang and ejected him from the premises.

Lonyai was later whisked away to Central Police Station despite protests from NASA leaders.
