IEBC Grants Access to Its Servers After Supreme Court Order

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on Tuesday afternoon showed proof that they had granted access to its servers as per the orders issued by Supreme Court.

This is after lawyers of the National Super Alliance (NASA) claimed their efforts of accessing servers were constantly being frustrated.

Lawyer Paul Muite stated that the IEBC servers were in Europe hence the delay, but Chief Justice David Maraga maintained that they should issue a report by 5 pm on Tuesday, failure to which they would be answerable to the court.

The electoral body quickly took to twitter to post photos of 'parties accessing its servers at Anniversary Towers'.

NASA lawyers had accused IEBC of denying them access to the servers more than 24 hours after the Supreme Court ordered the scrutiny.

“We've been stonewalled. No read only access. They want to give already printed logs. It's back to court in the morning,” NASA lawyer Paul Mwangi tweeted.

NASA lawyers said that their agents, as well as those of Jubilee, stayed at IEBC until 4.30am on Tuesday as they waited to be granted the court-ordered access to no avail.
