Earlier on, the electoral commission issued a statement on reports indicating that the poll body had resolved to suspend CEO Ezra Chiloba and four other senior officials.

In a statement issued on Tuesday morning, IEBC noted that it had not made changes to the staff at the commission, adding that they would announce the changes when they occurred.

"We are faced with another spell of fake news. Kindly ignore story on purported staff changes at the Commission. We tell it when there is," the electoral commission stated in a tweet.
