President Uhuru Kenyatta's New Team Ahead of October Presidential Elections

A new campaign team for President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto's re-election bid in October has emerged.

The team majorly composed of elected Jubilee Leaders will traverse grassroots to ensure that maximum voter turnout is achieved.

In the team, Murang’a Governor Mwangi wa Iria will run Taifa La Jubilee initiative which will be used to campaign in various counties across the country.

“This initiative hits the ground from Monday and it is going to reinforce other infrastructure that Jubilee Party has put in place for this campaign.

"Taifa La Jubilee seeks to work with like-minded Jubilee leaders in areas where the party needs support,” Governor Mwangi wa Iria told the Nation.

Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata will also lead a host of leaders under the Uhuru Tena initiative to ensure over 90 percent voter turnout in the county.

In Ukambani, Politician Kiema Kilonzo, Billionaire businessman Peter Muthoka and former Kitui Senator David Musila are expected to play leading roles with Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko being tasked with rallying the community behind Jubilee.

In Nyeri County, Senator Ephraim Maina is coordinating the campaigns for Uhuru's re-election.

 Kieni Member of Parliament Kanini Kega noted that the team will concentrate on ensuring High voter turnout as compared to the August elections.

“We are starting at the constituencies from tomorrow (Sunday); each MP will go to their constituency and urge people to turn out in large numbers.

"We will then do a tour across the county as a team before we host the President for a big rally towards the end of the campaign,” he explained.

In Kilifi County, Former Labour Cabinet Secretary Kazungu Kambi and former Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung’aro have joined hands to campaign for President Kenyatta.

"We decided to come together so that we can support President Kenyatta win a second term," Kambi stated

The Jubilee team is also reported to be recruiting volunteers in the targeted areas who will be working with elected MPs and governors and directly answerable to Mr Kenyatta and DP Ruto.
