Raila Odinga to Address NASA MPs Ahead of Major Rally

The National Super Alliance (NASA) Presidential candidate, Raila Odinga, is today set address a joint session of NASA-allied lawmakers before heading for a major rally at Kibra's Kamukunji grounds.

His communications team has announced that a major announcement will be made at the rally, what they are calling the Kamukunji Declaration.

This comes after opposition lawmakers promised to boycott President Kenyatta's scheduled address of a joint sitting of Parliament today.

Kajiado Central MP Elijah Memusi Kanchory was the first to announce the decision to boycott Uhuru's address at a rally in Kajiado on Sunday.

Bungoma Senator and NASA Co-principal Moses Wetangula yesterday stated that the Supreme Court's nullification of President Uhuru's re-election in the August 8th election makes his address to Parliament unimportant as they do not recognize him as President.

Jubilee responded by touting their majority in both Houses, highlighting that they do not need NASA MPs to conduct house business.

NASA is expected to make their stand known on their participation in the October 17th election after it was confirmed that the IEBC CEO, Ezra Chiloba, will not be removed from his position.

Following a retreat by the electoral body in Naivasha, chairperson Wafula Chebukati announced that the rift exposed by a leaked memo from him to Chiloba concerning the handling of the August Election had been healed.

NASA had demanded for the firing and prosecution of five secretariat officials led by Chief Executive Ezra Chiloba.
