National Bank Manager Arrested

A senior National Bank of Kenya Manager was arrested on Tuesday evening over the loss of Sh2.3 Billion.

Dennis Oduor, who is in charge of medium business at the bank, will be arraigned in court on Wednesday.

In May, two other managers of the same bank were arrested over the loss of Sh106 Million.

Chris Kisire and Wycliffe Kivunira were charged with abuse of office and breach of trust.

Chase Bank has also faced similar troubles after four of its senior managers were accused of conspiring to defraud the bank over Sh1.6 Billion.

The managers include Abdul Ahmed, Ghanrish Omar, Amiran Claudia and Mohammed Khan. They, however, claimed that the charges against them were defective.

The huge financial loss caused Chase Bank to be placed under receivership for a year.
