Governors, Senators, Members of Parliament and Members of County Assemblies are this week expected to receive their first salaries since they were elected.
With a vast majority of them allied to either Jubilee Party or the National Super Alliance, they are set to make contributions of various amounts to the parties that sponsored them to office, especially to fund the fresh election scheduled for October 26th.
Apart from raising funds specifically for the Presidential campaigns, the leaders are supposed to begin paying monthly subscription fees to their parties immediately.
For Jubilee Party, President Uhuru Kenyatta, Deputy President William Ruto and the governors from the party are expected to remit Sh 20,000 a month.
Elected MPs and senators will give Sh10,000 while those who were nominated to the houses will give Sh20,000.
Members of County Assemblies (MCA's) will be expected to pay Sh5,000 each.
Various leaders from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) had promised to contribute funds from their first salaries to boost NASA leader Raila Odinga's bid.
They are, however, still supposed to make monthly subscription fee payments to their parties.
ODM Members of Parliament (MP's) are expected to give the party Sh20,000 each.
Jubilee has 140 elected and 6 nominated MPs, 24 elected and 9 nominated senators while ODM has 62 elected and 3 nominated lawmakers, 13 elected and 6 nominated senators.
