Jubilee MP Reveals Why He Would Not Work for Uhuru

A Jubilee Member of Parliament (MP) has revealed that he would not want to work for President Uhuru Kenyatta in State House if he is re-elected.

Cherangany MP Joshua Kutuny who previously worked as Mr Kenyatta’s presidential political advisor in the former government has stated that he prefers his new job as a legislator.

The MP indicated that his role in State House which gave him good exposure also posed a lot of challenges.

"As a presidential political advisor, you realize that people are not your friends. They need you to deliver,” he stated in an interview with The Standard.

The MP also pointed out that his close relationship with Mr Kenyatta affected the professionalism required in conducting the State House job.

“I would need a place to tell you that this is wrong as it is, you know correcting a friend becomes a bit hectic. I would hate working with my friend" he stated adding that he experienced a lot of challenges convincing Mr Kenyatta that he was wrong on several instances.

The MP, who lost the 2013 elections to former MP Wesley Korir, attributed his failure in the parliamentary seat to the busy campaigns he held for Mr Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.

“I lost in 2013 because I was campaigning for Uhuru and his deputy William Ruto,” he stated adding that while approaching the elections, he did not campaign in his constituency giving his competitor a field day.
