Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General, Francis Atwoli has called on President Uhuru Kenyatta and National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga to dialogue.
The COTU Secretary-General has urged the two leaders and their teams to save Kenya from a looming crisis.
Atwoli further explained that the call for dialogue does not mean that the two should share the government as has been widely speculated.

Speaking at solidarity house, Atwoli stated that jobs have been paralyzed and Kenyans are suffering especially with the onging anti-IEBC demostrations.
“Most jobs in Kenya are peaceful jobs, jobs under contracts which are not permanent. Our jobs are casualized, where people are paid on daily basis, weekly basis and monthly basis.
"If there is nothing going on these people will not be able to pay their rent, not be able to access food, school fees for their children and a lot of instability,” he lamented.
Atwoli has asked politicians to stop chest thumping and come together and agree on a way forward to save the country.
“We are appealing to our political leaders to see sense and dialogue. Dialoguing is the global phenomena of people coming together throughout the world,” Atwoli stated.

He proposed a 10-member council of veteran politicians who he explains should essentially meet and discuss Kenya’s deadlock.
The leaders include Garissa Senator Yusuf Haji, Busia Senator Amos Wako, Odinga’s older brother Oburu Odinga, former State House controller Abraham Kiptanui, Hassan Ole Kamwaro, Rashid Sajjad, Zipporah Kittony, Phoebe Asiyo, Philip Masinde and former Kitui Senator David Musila.
