Ekuru Aukot Reveals What Chebukati Confessed During Private Meeting

Thirdway Alliance Party Presidential candidate Dr Ekuru Aukot has revealed some of the issues he discussed during a private meeting IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati.

Speaking after the meeting, he diclosed Chebukati confessed that the electoral body was not sure of whether to include the other five presidential candidates in the upcoming poll.

“Despite the orders, the IEBC is still uncertain whether to include the names of the other presidential candidates,” he stated.

Chebukati had a closed-door meeting with Aukot and his team where he presented a document to the presidential hopeful on the changes made ahead of the poll.

Aukot told the media that he had concerns about the document presented to him adding that he still needed more issues fixed.

He stated that they would retreat and review the documentation given by the IEBC and later make recommendations on the way forward.

He further maintained that the orders by High Court Judge John Mativo were specific that only his name should be added on the presidential ballot paper.

After the High Court ruling that ordered his inclusion in the upcoming poll, IEBC announced that all candidates who participated in the August election would also be part of the October exercise.

Speaking on the IEBC as a whole, he insisted that the electoral body should be reformed to avoid mistakes that were made in the August 8 election.
