NASA Reveals Jubilee's Plan to Block Raila Odinga From Meru

National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders have accused the Jubilee administration of planning chaos in Meru ahead of Raila Odinga's tour to the county.

Speaking at a press conference, NASA principal Musalia Mudavadi stated that police openly provided protection to youth who had been ferried to the rally by Jubilee while lobbing tear at NASA supporters.

"Jubilee is determined to lock particular parts of the country and declare them no-go zones for NASA," Mudavadi stated.

On his part, Odinga revealed that two police bosses in the area threw teargas at the Opposition supporters who were gathered to welcome the NASA leaders.

"Information on the ground is that an OCPD, one Mr Kimani and OCS Wamae are the ones who threw the gas at innocent NASA supporters who were gathered to welcome the leaders," Odinga stated.

This comes after Jubilee supporters in Meru allegedly torched a podium prepared for Mr Odinga ahead of his tour to the county.

The incident occurred after Jubilee Party supporters and Opposition die-hards clashed at Laare town minutes before a rally organised by NASA.

It was also reported that the Jubilee supporters blocked all entries to the venue to bar the NASA leader from gaining access.

Police lobbed teargas cannisters at the rival groups in a bid to restore order amid chants of "aende Kisumu (let him go to Kisumu)".

This was NASA's first tour to the region since the August 8 elections were concluded.
