President Uhuru Kenyatta Issues Fresh Warning to NASA

President Uhuru Kenyatta has issued a stern warning to National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders who intend to undermine the October 26 election.

Kenyatta was speaking during a rally in Nanyuki where he condemned the recent attacks on the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) officials in various regions in the country.

"Whoever will try to stop the elections by attacking IEBC officials, firm action will be taken against them.

"We cannot allow a few individuals to destroy our country,” stated the Head of State

He further assured IEBC staff that their security would not be compromised and the election would go on as planned.

“Anyone who will attempt to disrupt the election or attack election officials will be dealt with regardless of your position. You cannot stop a democratic process,” he added.

The President urged Kenyans to come out in large numbers to vote urging NASA leader Raila Odinga to stop inciting Kenyans to keep away from the polls.

"We are telling Raila you have a right to boycott the election but Kenyans have a right to vote.

"Why do you think you have a right to stop Kenyans from exercising their democratic right?" posed the President.

On Wednesday, IEBC commissioner Dr. Roselyn Akombe resigned from the electoral body noting that the commission was not in a position to conduct a credible election.

She also revealed that some of the top officials in the poll body are partisan adding that she did not want to be part of a flawed process.
