NASA MPs Given Strict Orders For Election Day

Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has asked all National Super Alliance (NASA) MPs to lead anti-IEBC demonstrations in their constituencies on October 26.

The Governor urged the leaders to take a leading role in the 'No reforms, No elections' campaigns by being at the frontline of the demonstrations.

Joho’s sentiments were echoed by former Machakos Senator Johnston Muthama who stated that it would be a shame if the leaders refused to participate in the demonstrations.

Muthama noted that other NASA leaders including flag bearer Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula will be on the front line.

“We want to see every MP in his constituency in the front line leading in the conversation of October 26 No Election,” Joho stated.

This comes after Mr Odinga announced that the opposition would hold countrywide demonstrations on October 26.

Speaking at the Kamukunji grounds in Nairobi on Wednesday, Odinga announced that NASA would continue to push IEBC to meet its demands before holding any election.

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leaders in Turkana County defied the call to hold demonstrations across the country on October 26.

Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok and Turkana Central MP John Lodepe announced that there would be no anti-IEBC demonstrations in Lodwar during the repeat presidential poll, but added that there would be no election either.

President Uhuru Kenyatta warned that stern action would be taken against anyone who would attempt to disrupt the repeat elections.
