What Chief Justice David Maraga Did on Election Day [PHOTOS]

Chief Justice David Maraga on Thursday joined other Kenyans in exercising their democratic right by participating in the repeat Presidential election.

The CJ cast his vote at Bosose primary school in West Mugirango Constituency, Nyamira County.

The turnout in the CJ's home area was low with a handful of voters turning out to vote.

Meanwhile, voter turn-out was significantly lower compared to the nullified August 8th poll..

In Jubilee strongholds, voters turned out in large numbers and cast their votes with minimum interruptions recorded.

In Opposition strongholds, the situation was quite different with youth engaging police in running battles.

In Kisumu, one person was killed and several others injured after National Super Alliance (NASA) supporters clashed with police officers.

According to reports, at least 8 people were admitted to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Hospital with gunshot wounds.

The victims claimed they were dragged out of their houses and clobbered, some shot by anti-riot police.

In Migori, one person was shot and injured by the anti-riot police following attempts to block polling stations. The victim was taken to Migori Hospital for treatment.

In Homa Bay there was not much activity as youth blocked polling stations while IEBC officials failed to show up at their duty stations.
